How long have you been cycling: As soon as I could ride a bike I have never stopped - from about 5. I took part in a lot of BMX racing when I was younger and this transferred into Mountain Biking. I have always followed the Tour de France, and 5 years ago decided to give Road Cycling a go, and got the bug. I love the freedom that cycling gives and you get to see places that you would never usually - see from a different perspective
Why are you taking part in this challenge: I have always wanted to cycle across Europe, I love a challenge and have always tried to support charities in the challenges that I take on. I also wanted to build on the enthusiasm that is currently being generated by cycling across the UK due to the recent successes in the Tour de France and Olympics. So with this in mind, I thought a charity event like this would generate interest and raise money and awareness for our chosen charity partners.
What are you most looking forward to: The 2nd day - Sunday the 22nd September we leave a small town in Northern Spain called Berga, and head north towards the Pyrenees. I am looking forward to the views, the challenge and the feeling that I would of climbed one of the most iconic mountain ranges of cycling in the world
What are you least looking forward to: The 2nd day!!!! The reason the views are awesome is that you are looking out from approximately 4000ft - and getting up that is going to be hard
