Job: Senior Project Manager
Site: Edinburgh
Time at CC: 7 years
Hobbies: Cycling and not much else for the last 6 months
How long have you been cycling: Since I was a boy but I started taking it seriously about 25 years ago
Why are you taking part in this challenge: I love cycling and my father was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and successfully treated last year, so this challenge really resonated with me. I enjoy travelling and the opportunity to spend 2 weeks crossing Europe by bike is too good to resist. At the same time we are supporting 3 great charities and hopefully our efforts and the efforts of our colleagues in Computacenter will make a big difference to them
What are you most looking forward to: The mountains
What are you least looking forward to: The mountains - it is a love/hate thing! The sense of achievement from cycling every day for 2 weeks and covering 1200 miles will be amazing. Camaraderie and teamwork will also be a big part of this trip. Hopefully we will get a taste of some local cuisine on the way and seeing the countryside change before our eyes as we traverse the Pyrenees, France, Belgium, Holland and the south of England will be fantastic. This is a trip of a lifetime because without the support of Computacenter it would be very difficult to organise this kind of trip on our own
Good luck Gav mate. We're all cheering you on...! Andy C
